Mersaco Selects SNS, SPAN and Logsquare for an Ultimate Warehouse Optimization

Beirut – January 2021 – SNS, a leading provider of supply chain consultancy and software implementation, today announced the successful completion of a warehouse assessment project with Lebanon-based healthcare distribution and services institution Mersaco, in collaboration with SPAN and Logsquare, which are all operating companies of the Logistics Technology Group Holding. Following the introduction of an A-Frame Pick and Pack automation system, consultants reviewed the distributor’s warehouse design, process flows and IT systems, to deliver customized recommendations designed to leverage the capabilities of the A-Frame, and boost productivity.

As part of the transformation in the main warehouse operation, Mersaco installed the A-Frame to allow for a new ordering and delivery mechanism that will enhance order preparation and services. Through enabling faster pick rates on fast moving items and minimizing travel and elevator usage across floors, operational flows will be enhanced significantly.

Having reviewed the slotting of the products in the A-Frame and other pick locations, and all end-to-end order and operational flows, our consultants made a series of recommendations. These included changes to tote induction to minimize conveyor congestion and ensure FIFO order process; revised slotting and provision of slotting sheets to increase the overall percentage of lines fulfilled from A-Frame and reduce the number of manually picked totes; new allocation process to minimize unfulfilled lines; and design changes to further increase productivity.
